Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910, and died on September 5, 1997.  She died of a heart attack in Kolkata India at the age of 87.  Her name, Mother Teresa is not her real name, her real name is Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She was a nun.  When Mother Teresawas 18, she left her home town Skopje in Macedonia and became a Sister of Loreto.  October 7, 1950 is when Mother Teresa got permisson from Vatican to start  her own order.  They helped the poorest and most desperate people in India.  They helped those with AIDS, leporsy, the hungry, and orphans.

She got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize in 1971, The Balzan Prize,  and the Templetion and Magsaysay Prize in 1979.  Mother Teresa wanted peace because she wanted to help others
